Artistic Director/Founder: Christine Kowalchik

Award-winning choreographer and founder/artistic director of Show Tyme Academy, Christine Kowalchik holds BA degrees in both Acting and Dance Choreography from Muhlenberg College. Born in New York state, but raised primarily in Maine, Christine classically trained in the Balanchine Technique, jazz, tap and modern, at the Maine State School for the Performing Arts and Maine State Ballet. During her college career she was part of an improvisational dance company, "6Meters" and choreographed for and performed in multiple main stage productions. After college Christine enjoyed studying and choreographing on three continents, including her personal favorite: Africa. Locally Christine has choreographed MCT’s productions of Willy Wonka, Shrek! The Musical, A Christmas Story, Mamma Mia, “Elf” the Musical, and Performing Arts Camp as well as Frenchtown High School's production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. Her choreography has been recognized nationally both on screen and stage as choreographer for “My Grandpa’s Fiddle” which earned a Telley Award in 2018, and has earned Platinum awards at New York City Dance Alliance’s Nationals. Christine’s students have gone on to attend prestigious summer intensives, private schools, and BFA programs, we well as earned top adjudications at serval different conventions and competitions around the United States.

Acting Instructor:

Alex Kowalchik

Born in Denver, Colorado and raised in Southern California, Alex has been performing most of his life. After acting in over twenty stage productions, he shifted his focus towards Theatre Education. In 2012, after graduating from Southern Illinois University with a BA in Theatre-Performance, he joined the Missoula Children's Theater as a Touring Actor/Director. He spent the next three and a half years traveling the world, teaching and performing with over 6,000 kids in seven countries. The Missoula Children's Theater convinced Alex to settle in Missoula, as well, where he continues to act and teach.

Haley Budge Nord

Haley Budge Nord is a 2016 University of Montana Graduate, holding a Bachelors of Arts in Dance with an emphasis in ballet. She was raised in Missoula where she started her training at the age of eight years old. Throughout her youth, Haley received multiple scholarships from the Montana Dance Arts Association-an organization of which she is now a proud member. Haley has had the privilege to train and perform throughout the United States as well as internationally throughout China and Europe. Haley has taught throughout the Missoula Valley and in the Missoula County Public School System in coordination with the Center of Music by People with Disabilities. In March of 2019 Show Tyme funded Haley’s attendance to a teacher training workshop with AXIS Dance Company- a pioneer in the field of integrated dance. Haley’s goal is to cultivate an environment flowing with discipline, positive thinking and self-confidence. She is proud to be both a Show Tyme Academy instructor as well as serve as the Studio Manager!

Assistant Company Director/ Contemporary 5 Instructor:

Lisa Brucker

Lisa Brucker is thrilled to join the Show Tyme family as Assistant Company Director and instructor for Contemporary 5. She comes to Show Tyme with over 30 years of dance instruction, choreography, and leadership experience from all over the United States.


Marie Barnett

Marie Barnett was trained in the Royal Academy of Dance method, completing Elementary through Advanced levels as well as earning the Royal Academy of Dance teaching certificate. Marie performed classical and contemporary roles while dancing with San Luis Obispo Civic Ballet and Golden State Ballet, both in California. As a choreographer, her works include everything from classical ballet to Broadway musicals. Ms. Barnett served as Owner/Artistic Director of The Ballet Conservatory in Aliso Viejo, CA, for 8 years. Since moving to Missoula in 2005, Marie has enjoyed teaching teaching ballet and pointe at Rocky Mountain Ballet Theatre, University of Montana, Ballet Arts Academy and now Show Tyme Academy!!!

Scott Nicholls

Mr. Shuffles, as his students affectionately call Scott, comes to Show Tyme Academy with over 40 years of professional dance experience; beginning at the San Francisco Ballet and taking him to multiple Las Vegas schools, studios, and stages.  Scott's philosophy is that while dance is fun, builds confidence, and provides a good's real success lies in the practice and dedication is teaches.  


Bruno Augusto

Bruno is the co-founder and co-artistic director of Arts & Above; an art maker, performer, and educator based in Missoula, Montana. His work encompasses dance, music, poetry, and film, and has been presented throughout the United States, as well as the Caribbean, Africa and Europe. His professional and artistic work spans 24 years and counting, as he continues creating, performing and educating in communities across the world. Mr. Augusto holds a diploma from Escuela Nacianal de Artes (Havana, Cuba), a BFA from Towson University in dance performance, and a MFA from Tisch School of the Arts at NYU in choreography.


Tiki Preston

Dancing and grooving ever since she could remember, Tiki Preston came from the Black Hills of South Dakota to study choreography and performance through the University of Montana in 2016. Tiki instantly appreciated the environment and care taken into action in the Theatre and Dance Program. Contemporary, Modern, Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Ballroom have been passions of hers since age four. She has had the honor of working with many highly-esteemed choreographers such as Brian Gerke, Faith Morrison, Meredith Monk’s dancer Allison Easter, and Vim Vigor. Tiki self-choreographed a solo in 2018 that was chosen for the American College Dance Association (ACDA) to be adjudicated in a conference for all Northwestern collegiate dance programs. She was presented an Award of Excellence through the University’s Theatre and Dance Program in 2017-18, along with the Talent Scholarship in 2019 and annually accepts the Steven Wing Scholarship.

Annika Charlson

Annika is thrilled to be teaching at Show Tyme Academy! Currently teaching Jazz 1/2 and 3B, Hip 1/2 and 3, Tiny Ballerinas and private Jazz lessons, this Show Tyme Academy alumni continues to refine her skills as a University of Montana student; studying both Dance Education and Communication. Born and raised in Missoula, Annika has grown up performing locally. Most recently, you may have seen her in The Missoula Community Theatre's productions of "The Sound of Music" and "Mamma Mia".


Office Assistant:

Lori Scott

Lori is a Show Tyme Academy alumni currently teaching Itty Bitty Dancers, Tiny Ballerinas, and private ballet lessons. While dancing at Show Tyme Academy, she was a member of its Elite Dance Company and traveled to and competing in multiple cities across the United States including Minneapolis, Billings, Couer D'Alene, Phoenix, and Los Angeles. She was awarded both High Silver and Gold awards for her craft. When she isn't teaching, you'll often find her assisting in the front office or continuing to take advanced classes. She's excited to continue teaching and helping out at the studio!


Alice Petasek

Alice, 18, has been dancing for 7 years. Originally a gymnast, she quickly found herself drawn to dance as a passion she wanted to pursue, so she found herself at Show Tyme! Now in her second year as a Company Elite member and first year member of the S.T.A.G.E. program, Alice looks forward to competing, learning, and teaching this season!


Grace Nolan

Grace Nolan, 16, has been dancing for 14 years and teaching for the past four. Her favorite styles of dance include Modern and Ballet and she intends on dancing professionally when she graduates. Grace has spent the past 4 years traveling with Show Tyme's Elite Company, earning multiple Platinum and high score awards and scholarships for her performances. This past summer, Grace was accepted into the Kansas City Ballet's 5-week summer intensive program. This season, you'll catch Grace shining on the Show Tyme stage, dancing in Garden City's annual "Nutcracker", or as a part of Missoula's local dance company: Bare Bait Dance


Elaina Baldwin

Elaina is in her 7th year at Show Tyme Academy and her 2nd year as a S.T.A.G.E member. She's currently a member of the Show Tyme Academy Elite Company, which travels across the country for conventions and competitions, in which she's logged multiple high scores in years past. Elaina is a founding Show Tyme Company member and is teaching Tiny Dancers, Tiny Ballerinas 2, Ballet 1, Tap 1, Jazz 1, Tap 2, and private lessons in addition to her own classes at Show Tyme. Elaina is so excited for this coming season!


Olivia Farnes

Olivia Farnes has been dancing at Show Tyme for five years, and forging her dance skills since age three. Skilled in nearly any dance style you could ask for, Olivia loves spending time on the dance floor, whether it's teaching or learning. Her performances have won both regional and national awards, from Los Angeles to New York City.

Piano Instructor:

Anne Bashor

Anne Bashor has played piano since the age of five. She received a full scholarship to the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she received her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance with an emphasis in Piano Pedagogy. Anne has a studio of wonderful piano students at Show Tyme Academy and is also an accompanist for Dolce Canto, the University of Montana, and a few Missoula County Public Schools. Anne also spends her summer working with students at the Missoula Children’s Theatre. Anne has performed with a number of chamber groups and performs in multiple recitals every year. In her spare time she loves cooking with her husband, hiking, and reading books on her front yard swing. All of life is further enjoyed with the presence of their pooches, Stewie & Mindy. The dogs both enjoy showing off their singing ability, often matching pitch.
